A nice list of the dangers of lingering e-mails, along with some juicy examples.
I save all of my e-mail, but I'm sure that the FBI doesn't care about my well-documented plans to assasinate despotic world leaders. :-)

The reference to "new-fangled features of e-mail" in the first paragraph is saying that the features are new when compared to "old-time letters", not new to e-mail itself.

Of course, it is possible to "forward" paper mail, but that's not quite the same thing.

Gee, and here I thought stupid crap like "forwarding" had been with us since the earliest days of email. Not as though I should be surprised when journalists display their ignorance of history...
