| An Israeli company has invented Power Paper -- a super-thin battery that can be printed onto packages like ink. They anticipate that this can be used by marketers to create glitzy high-tech packaging, such as CD covers that light up and play music when customers pick up the box. |
| Great -- I wasn't getting enough flashing lights and random sounds when shopping. (Actually, some of the other "smart packinging" uses mentioned could be ok.) |

I have this image of someone with a full shopping basket accidently bumping it into the checkout stand, and being deafened by the cacophony as 35 packages all trigger at once and make noise. Is there any length to which advertisers will not go? |
