Geeknews.net pointed us towards this story on broadband access via satellite for those users who live outside of cable modem and DSL range.
This has special relevance to us at GeekPress, since we are thinking of moving to an area of Colorado where this is the case.

If all you do is surf & dowload, it will probably be fine.



However, I hear that it completely kills online gaming due to the 46,000 mile roundtrip your signals need to make via the satellite.

Kim Kommando, based in Phoenix, Arizona has said she uses the Starband Satellite system to connect to the internet. Since she's the 'Digital Guru' that's probably how I'll go also.
