Game developer 3D Realms plans harsh restrictions on the use of screenshots for the upcoming game Duke Nukem Forever. They wish to clamp down on unofficial strategy guides that use unauthorized screenshots to illustrate their points (thus increasing sales for the official strategy guide). There's also a discussion of the controversial licensing agreement which forbids websites from using Duke Nukem logos and trademarks "in a derogatory or defamatory manner, or in any negative context". The company claims that this won't be used to censor critical reviews of the game.
The side story on the Pokemon trademark dispute between Nintendo and self-styled "psychic" Uri Geller is also amusing! What goes around comes around...

Jimmy Wales clarifies the confusion over Stallman's announcement of GNUpedia, given the existence of the already-well-established open source encyclopedia Nupedia.
Paul and I were totally floored at the GNUpedia announcement, as Jimmy Wales and editor-in-chief Larry Sanger are friends of ours. I'm glad that the issue has been resolved so successfully for them!

David Coursey explains why he is going to become "bipolar" -- using a Windows desktop machine at the office, but carrying a Mac laptop on the road. His main argument is that the laptop applications that he uses (Office, IE, Outlook) all have excellent Mac versions. Plus the new Mac laptops are just way too cool...
The cool factor is not to be underestimated, as users of other sleek machines like the Sony Vaio know.
